Dissertation Consulation

To help in my critical journalling, I went to redraw some of the sketches I had previously to be slightly more detailed and expdn further on my prototype that I have envisioned.
In my creative process journal, I reflect on the evolution of my project from initial sketches to a more refined concept. Starting with simple sketches, I aimed to explore the interaction process more deeply, adding layers of meaning and nuance. My research, as shown in Fig. 18, highlighted the importance of bridging physical and digital textures through interaction. However, upon reviewing my texture study files, I realized there was a missing element in my interaction design. This realization sparked the idea of creating an interface that would allow me to input photographs into the p5.js software and manipulate them using sensors. This concept of closing the gap between physical and digital realms led me to consider the reverse process. How could I use perception and user testing to enhance this interaction? These factors became crucial considerations as I further developed my project, aiming to create a meaningful and immersive experience that truly bridges the gap between physical and digital textures.

User Perception and Interaction Data Collection

Perception plays a crucial role in design, as it influences how users interpret and interact with visual stimuli. Designers can leverage knowledge of perception to create more effective designs by understanding how different elements are perceived and using this knowledge to guide their design decisions. Future Directions: How might advancements in technology, such as augmented reality or voice interfaces, impact user perception and interaction? How can I stay informed and adapt my design practices accordingly?
