Week 8: Formative Feedback Review

My overall progress is slow. Your research has progressed well so far, slowly though. The practical approach in your work is becoming clearer and more interconnected, however, I could also observe that you struggled a bit with framing your proposal which is currently still work in progress and does not yet express where the research could lead your practical work, this you should focus on when you transition from your proposal to your dissertation, the research should inform the practical work and vice versa. Also, review the organisation of your reading list, currently this needs work.

Avoid getting sidetracked by web browsing, social media, and observing others' work. The allure of impressive projects may lead to setting overly ambitious goals. Instead, shift your focus towards steadily enhancing your technical and design skills. Take a step back from comparison and concentrate on developing confidence through consistent, iterative practice. Allow yourself the time to analyze, reflect upon, and improve your experiments, gradually honing your unique style and voice.

Books for Referemce

Andreas kindly brought over a bunch of books for us to browse to get some inspiration for our catalogue of making if we were to decide on print or the layout can serve as an inspiration for website. With these resources at hand, I took a few photos from the book pages that caught my eye or I feel can be kept for reference.

Moving Forward

To make more progress than I have so far, rather than simply storing the code's final design. I should create a catalogue and provide a brief explanation of how I created this code or how I altered or mixed it.

To accomplish this, I organised the codes I've acquired into parts. 1. Found Code 2; Manipulated Code 3. AI-generated code, followed by my own code. Instead of creating a print brochure, which I am more comfortable with, I chose to create a web-based catalogue for ease of use.

With my still considered beginner skill to html, I decided to make my life easier by using a website template from last year's data spaces workshop and make it into a single scroll website showcasing my works. In my code, I plan to include descriptions as well as some sort of inspiration that made me make the code that way. Also not forgetting to credit the sources that I have used to help me achieve my results.
