Week 7: Individual Consultation

This is where I am slowing down my already slow pace. This week I focused on sourcing for readings for the upcoming rpo submission. During my consult, I felt a bit lost into the direction of where my research I am headed. Andreas kindly sat through with me to talk about whatever we have intially discuussed so far in the 3 pillars and different ways I can approach this paper.

At this time i feel regretful that I was not consistent and have been doing a part time internship which is not ideal as I was extremely exhasted and switching back and forth between school and work was mentally exhausting. I somehwat made myself burnt out for no reason.

This week, with more clarity and direction towards my rpo, I planned to rewrite and restructure the content using my own words. But yes, I slacked more this week hope to catch-up soon.

ARDUNIO Introductory Class

The class provided valuable insights into the potential of controlling and manipulating various physical components, such as buttons and rods, through code utilizing the Arduino board. Witnessing how these seemingly ordinary objects could be transformed and animated through programming sparked a sense of excitement within me. It ignited a curiosity and a desire to embark on future experiments where I could apply this newfound knowledge and potentially create something innovative.

The few objects that Andreas showed and explained throughly was easy for me to grasp but it did make me consider that this aspect of combining code and design still comes as fascination as having been doing design work that is mostky digital or print this has become more eye opening. Half the class attended this, so I did not really feel alone that i actually do not know all these stuff. This sharing made me think about how i can include or incorporate this into my project meaningfully.

Industry Talk

During a recent Zoom session, there was a captivating industry presentation on the application of generative AI in media art and design by Kieliang and Weidi. Their insights and demonstrations proved to be exceptionally enlightening, shedding light on the innovative intersection of technology and artistic expression. Both Kieliang and Weidi showcased remarkable work that left a lasting impression. Their ability to seamlessly integrate generative AI techniques into the realm of media art and design was truly commendable. What stood out was their adept utilization of OpenGL in conjunction with touch designer, showcasing a harmonious blend of advanced graphics programming and interactive design. The fusion of these technologies not only opens up new dimensions in creative expression but also illustrates the dynamic possibilities that arise when cutting-edge technology converges with artistic vision. Overall, their contributions serve as a testament to the boundless possibilities at the intersection of artificial intelligence and creative endeavors.
