Week 15: Setup for Submission:
For my setup, rather than displaying all 20 objects I only selected a few to showcase but also a variety, To display them, I bought fake grass patches from daiso as a mat to prop the objects as well as the booklets as grass is another form of texture which I dislike. As for my prototype, due to the poor planning and rush, I managed to only draw what I envisioned as my end prototype and sketched it out and printed them out to showcase the ideas I had in mind. The sketches I drew using procreate. Both digital and physical textures serve as outlets for creative expression, enabling artists to convey emotions and concepts through a myriad of colors, patterns, and intricate details. in these experiments there are mulitple coincidences that the textures do have some similarity and the expression of it as well.
To conclude, I felt like I achieved quite a fair bit in the short amount of time I had as I started quite late due to procrastination and loss of direction. Actually the turning point for me was when I wrote down the list of what I had to do I amanged to start going smoothly. The experiments I did, I enjoyed the sketching one the most as it reminded me of how I started to do design in the first place, where I used to do arts and crafts when i was youmger. I tend to enjoying observing what is around me so when collecting the data and sketches, I manage t draw some insights of actually how some places are thoughtful of tactfully placing textures to help people navigate for example or prevent people from slipping. This indicates that even though the eveolvement of sleek and smooth technologies, tactile experiences are still much necessary. Though visually may not be appealing but it serves it purposes.
